Dazzling talent on the threshold of international careers  presented in the New Masters Series 2010.

GUNEL MIRZAYEVA - Piano
Gunel Mirzayeva is an extraordinarily gifted pianist from Azerbaijan.  Despite her youth she is a frequent First Prize winner on the International Piano Competition platform, resulting in regular performances with major world orchestras, including at the Barbican and even featuring in concert at the British House of Commons in 2007. Her appearance in the New Masters Series® at The Court, is the absolute befitting descriptive forum for her blossoming international career…….  "You heard it here first!" Born in the capital city of Baku in 1987, Gunel began playing the piano at 7 and her talent was soon recognised by the local music academy from where she graduated in 2005.

Her full scholarship enabled her to continue her studies at the Guildhall in the UK, where her array of awards currently includes First Prize in the 2009 Beethoven Piano Prize.  Gunel was also First Prize winner in the Enschede International Piano Competition Holland this year.  Gunel Mizayeva is scheduled to play in Italy, Germany and again returning to Holland in 2010 and we are most privileged to have this rising star at our local venue.

Gunel included works by J. S. BACH, DEBUSSY, HAYDN  &  CHOPIN
